In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Atlanta actually not tearing down an important building, the Fox Theatre is celebrating with an infographic profiling the 86-year-old theater. Constructed as a Yaarab Shriner Temple/movie palace — the most epic combination of uses ever — in 1929, the Fox was one of the first buildings to be saved by Atlanta preservationists, helping to spark the formation of the Atlanta Preservation Center. According to random facts released by the theatre, patrons consume 47,500 pounds of popcorn and 75,000 Cokes during the more than 280 events at the venue per year.
