Art-Filled Midtown Penthouse has Views, $879K Price

New, 8 comments

At the MidCity Lofts on Spring Street, a pioneering 2002 condo building, this airy penthouse occupies the southwest corner and offers enough pillars to shame the Acropolis. Designed by Herbert Brito, the three-bedroom loft spans 2,133 square feet and boasts eye-catching, white-oak floors in a Herringbone pattern. The 14-foot kitchen island has two sinks, Viking appliances and a rather wild design that only slightly echoes the aesthetics of Caribou Coffee. Info about the HOA fees isn't readily available, but the $879,000 asking price is comparable to the (slightly bigger) three-bedroom units going up a few blocks away at Seventh Midtown. The agent correctly describes the patio views as "amazing," but that huge parking lot below could make a future-conscious buyer nervous. We're not exactly sure what a "Custom Vienna Acoustic Sound System" is, but this place has it, and it sounds righteous.
