Vision Quest

New, 12 comments

With the Braves' Cobb County move likely just two seasons away, the City of Atlanta has been awarded a $200,000 grant to complete a study on possible future incarnations of Turner Field. Speculation has swirled about what the 1,340-acre site will become, once the Braves flee to the hills, with many optimistic that GSU could effect positive changes like they have throughout downtown. The study, supported by the Atlanta Regional Commission, should begin later this year; it seeks to develop a vision that will promote growth in neighborhoods adjacent to the stadium site and parking lots.
