New Fourth Ward

Atlanta INtown recaps two recent unveilings in the Old Fourth Ward that should contribute, however incrementally, to the burgeoning's 'hood's quality of life. First to open was a new shade pavilion at Historic Fourth Ward Park — more specifically, "a canopy of black locust wood louvers and galvanized steel tube purlins" — that'll spare kiddos and parents from summertime roastings. And lest we forget Freedom Barkway, which was frequented by hundreds on opening day and, if social media is any indication, became an immediate hit. [Photo: FreedomBarkway.com]
