In an effort to honor its goal of creating 5,600 affordable housing units, Atlanta Beltline Inc. has partnered with a local bank to launch a financing program for households at or below 80 percent of the area median income, officials announced this week. The partnership will offer $600,000 in grant funding for the purchase of new homes — or the rehabilitation of homes needing basic repairs — along the Beltline Corridor. Said Beltline head honcho Paul Morris: "(We're) committed to providing stable housing opportunities for individuals and families who wish to live along the Atlanta Beltline and may be most affected by the impacts from growth and change."
