Next Up for Memorial Drive at Beltline: Boutique Rentals

New, 25 comments

Developers hope to break ground this summer on an 80-unit apartment building in Reynoldstown, the latest plans in a flurry of development activity on Memorial Drive. Enfold Properties recently applied for building permits for a project called, simply, "841 Memorial," a reference to the address of the 1.14-acre lot where that street and Chester Avenue collide. An insider with the $11-million development called it a "small boutique deal" with "a rooftop amenity." A rendering obtained by Curbed shows a four-story structure with lots of whites, grays and clean lines. Officials are optimistic that construction will launch in June, but a completion date was not provided.

Enfold is behind a pair of somewhat similar projects in Buckhead (Collier Lofts and Ardmore & 28th), but the 841 Memorial development will rise in what's shaping up to be Atlanta's next Beltline-influenced hotspot. The location is essentially next door to the old Atlanta Dairies site, which the folks behind Krog Street Market are rehabbing as a mixed-use hub, and just a few steps from the eventual trailhead of the Beltline's extended Eastside Trail. "Hopefully they get under way with that leg soon," the source said. "It would be great to connect Reynoldstown sooner than later, in my opinion."
