Like almost every other aspect of the Atlanta Braves' Cobb County stadium, it looks like a multi-use bridge over Interstate 285 is going to cost more than expected, and it's still in design phases. Cobb County Commissioners are expected to vote this week on whether to approve an $804,000 contract — more than $50,000 higher than taxpayers have long been expecting — with a Los Angeles-based designer, the Marietta Daily Journal reports. The actual construction of the bridge will reportedly cost between $6 and $9 million; if/when finished, it will span 11 lanes of I-285, from a Cobb Galleria parking deck to the Braves' mixed-use compound, with a possible second level added for shuttle services.
