For proof that Atlanta's balconies are worth their weight in gold, look no further. A recently remodeled 15th floor unit near Lenox Square has undergone a $5,000 price drop in an effort to attract interest since first going up for sale last June. The unit has sweet views of the Atlanta skyline (from an angle you rarely see) and is a not-unpleasant 1,209 square feet. Neighborhood-wise, the building is just a block from Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza, Target and Publix, and not more than a 10-minute walk to both Buckhead and Lenox MARTA stations — ideal for anyone keen on walkability. Listed for $245,000, the two-bedroom, one-bathroom (though the photos seem to show two) unit is going for just $5,000 more than it sold for in 1998. The lack of an outdoor space hurts, but could the dropping price help atone for that? Could it be that the decor, for Buckhead, is still a little too mired in some other era? Or perhaps the idea of shared laundry in an upscale building (seriously?) is holding it back. With the soul-piercing chairs just a distant memory and a swanky new tile job, maybe it's time for this unit to sell.
