Georgians have until Friday to comment on the DOT's latest draft of the Statewide Rail Plan, which outlines possible intra- and inter-state train connections through 2040. While far from set in stone, the plans exist to "enable the department to implement a more efficient and effective approach to integrate passenger and freight rail elements into the larger multi-modal transportation framework." But if you're hoping for new rail-related revelations, don't hold your breath; a tipster says the 177-page report and various appendices look little changed from previous versions of the plan.
