After more than six months of construction, the Gables Oglethrope on Peachtree Road in Brookhaven is beginning to take shape. The 374-unit apartment complex, located between Town Brookhaven and Oglethorpe University, is slated to open this fall, providing not only student accommodations but classroom and meeting space. The project borrows both old and new architectural language from its neighbors: It'll be clad in stone to mimic the Gothic revival style of the adjacent campus, but the structures themselves are the typical stick-framed construction of mixed-use developments popping up all around town (e.g., at Town Brookhaven). With green spaces galore and a corner park at Peachtree Road and Hermance Drive, it could be a welcome addition to the neighborhood. After the jump, partake in a photo tour of what's been built thus far.
