In an effort to change the character and improve the functionality of one of Atlanta's most clogged arteries, an initiative called the "Howell Mill Road Redevelopment Blueprint Project" has launched. The study, which is accepting online input from anyone who's got beef with Howell Mill, is targeting properties within 400 feet of the road, from Interstate 75 to south of Flip Burger Boutique. At a standing-room-only kickoff meeting this week, attendees griped about Howell Mill's "ugly buildings," "lack of sidewalks," "too many auto-oriented uses," "ugly utility lines," "junky signage," "numerous curb cuts," rampant potholes and colossal QuikTrip, among other delightful aspects.
