Decatur Dichotomy

New, 1 comment

The New York Times turned a critical but kind eye to Decatur this week, calling it "equal parts molasses-drawled Southern and au courant," in a feature highlighting a handful of stores and restaurants around the courthouse square. While the transformation of the city's core in the last few decades (and its rise to hipster-dom status) is well-known to Atlantans, the NYT portrayal seems a bit narrow. But overall, the big-city northerners seemed to be impressed, if not a bit surprised to find wonderful places with culture in Atlanta. [Image: Buy Sell Live Atlanta]
