Hurrah! Atlanta has bagged some greenbacks in an effort make the city, well, more green. The Northside Neighbor reports that Atlanta is one of eight cities to receive a grant from the National Park Service to support park creation in disadvantaged neighborhoods. Our $280,000 slice of the $3 million pie will go towards the first phase of a 9.2-acre park at Proctor Creek, supporting the construction of a pedestrian and bike trail, fitness stations and spaces for picnicking and play.
