Edgewood Victorian has Oodles of Character, Oddball Elements

New, 13 comments

A recently renovated Victorian home filled with quirky charm is hoping to fetch $559,900 in Edgewood. The idiosyncrasies start out front, with an awkwardly tacked-on roof deck sitting over a large portion of the home. Inside, the main entry hall, looking like an old-timey school corridor, has large glass doors with transoms leading into each room. Using every bit of space available in the 3,300-square-foot home to offer these four bedrooms and four bathrooms, renovators carved rooms out of the attic, subjecting it to the odd angles of the roof, but allowing for a sweet pool table. Finally, the deck out back seems like the result of additions, replete with a strange assortment of protruding house pieces, all faced by various doors and windows, none of which match. Despite the oddball construction, with 10-foot ceilings, a beautiful kitchen, heart-pine floors and a location just a block from MARTA, this old gal has a lot going for her. Good luck finding a home like this, at this price point, on the other side of the tracks.
