The Clermont Lounge, Atlanta's oldest and most AARP-friendly strip club, will be forced to close for a couple of months this summer as work on the boutique hotel above it finally begins, Creative Loafing reports. One CL commenter posits the (probably false) theory that the temporary closure is really the developer's way of gently shuttering the club for good, without spurring public outrage. Clermont officials insist that the cultural nexus — like its Poncey-Highland brethren, Manuel's Tavern — will soldier on, and that "the look of the lounge" will be unchanged.
