OLD FOURTH WARD — Hugh Acheson-Ponce City Market restaurant rumors have been swirling for a while, and now there's confirmation. But instead of a restaurant, Acheson is opening a coffeeshop at the highly anticipated development. Details are scarce, but Spiller Park Coffee is officially on board.
DISASTER REPORT — It was a tough weekend for a couple of popular local eateries. First, a driver plowed into Home Grown in Reynoldstown, punching a hole in the front wall. Then, a false-alarm call to the fire department led to water damage at Morningside's Varuni Napoli.
INMAN PARK — Proof Bakeshop, the forthcoming bakery from the Cakes & Ale team, has a launch date set. Proof will soft open in the former Dough Bakery space in Inman Park on May 11, and it will be fully up and running on May 18.
