The 110 Atlanta leaders attending the LINK delegation conference in Toronto last week were treated to a reality check when it comes to transit funding: Canada's largest city has poured about $32 billion — the equivalent of roughly 32, roughly 28 roughly 22 new Falcons stadiums — into regional transit in the last 15 years alone. Contrasting that to the transportation investment package the General Assembly passed this year — the widely applauded measure that includes a one-time, $100 million boost for transit projects in all Georgia cities — is pretty much embarrassing.
