Good news for people who hate stroller-versus-bike collisions: Officials broke ground this week on a project that will encircle Chastain Park in a multi-use PATH trail that's nearly as wide as the Beltline's Eastside Trail. The $2 million Walk Chastain project could finish as early as this year, providing Atlanta's largest park with a nearly one-mile loop of concrete that's 10 to 12 feet wide (three times the current sidewalk width) with an increased buffer from cars of four feet.
