A WSB-TV investigation has found that the majority of Atlanta Streetcar drivers hired to operate the system were not qualified to be driving under rules established by the city, leaving just three operators for the entire system. In a likely related occurrence, nearby resident Stephen Lackey tells Curbed that officials were informing customers this week the system was down to one available streetcar, resulting in lead times between 40 minutes and one hour. On the bright side, now might be a good time to apply for the conveniently re-listed operator position — just please meet the criteria this time. [Photo: Curbed]
