MARTA Matters

New, 9 comments

MARTA is officially soliciting ideas from developers to overhaul a Midtown station that's drawn criticism for its pedestrian-unfriendly design. MARTA officials told the AJC today that they've released requests for proposals to turn the Arts Center station near the Woodruff Arts Center into a high-density, mixed-use hive of activity. One official called the 6.2-acre site "complicated," in that it entails the existing station, bus area, parking and undeveloped land — unlike other sites near MARTA stations that are basically blank slates of asphalt.
