Tim Keane, former director of Planning, Preservation and Sustainability for Charleston, has been named Atlanta's new Commissioner for the Department of Planning and Community Development, reports the Atlanta Daily World. Pending confirmation by the Atlanta City Council, Keane will take over the department starting July 1. With a Masters of Architecture from UNC-Charlotte and experience in both public and private development, Keane brings diverse experience to the position, so let's hope he can imbue the ATL with a little of Charleston's charm.
