"Technically a mall is what a lot of people would call 'walkable mixed-use.' In a mall you have plenty of food and shopping options, and you typically walk between them. But actual walkability goes beyond that and involves creating a critical mass of jobs, homes and entertainment that encourages many people to use modes of transit other than cars as a first resort on a daily basis. I would say few — if any — places in metro Atlanta achieve that today. There have been a thousand steps in the right direction, but still a million more ahead," — commenter eRosewater, "How Doraville's GM Site could Become a Walker's Utopia"
