A delegation of development officials from the Charlotte area recently took an impromptu tour of the Atlanta Streetcar (it's a long story) and came away impressed with our 2.7-mile loop in what one guy called the "warehousey part of town." Interestingly, they learned that restaurants near the streetcar have reported a 30-percent increase in business since the system launched six months ago. But all is not rosy, as another official noted: "I think they still have some public relations work to do to retrain people to share the roads with a streetcar." [The Herald. Photo: Curbed]
