A new rent map by Zumper compiles information from neighborhoods across the city — using 3,200 data points! — to declare Atlanta the 16th most expensive city in the country right now, alongside Long Beach. Some key findings: One-bedroom rents in The Big Peach have climbed 4.3 percent in the past quarter (the new median: $1,200) with the most expensive neighborhood, as of May, being Peachtree Heights West (average rent: $1,645). Interestingly, the study found that average one-bedroom rents in the Old Fourth Ward ($1,379) have surpassed those in Inman Park and Virginia-Highland — but not Midtown ($1,539).
