In an attempt to solve parking woes that have spilled onto Grant Park's public streets, Zoo Atlanta is exploring the feasibility of building a multi-level, subterranean parking deck that would be topped with a landscaped, earth-friendly green roof, Creative Loafing reports. What's more, the project would replace the zoo's largest surface parking lot, which sprawls for eight acres along Boulevard, with more greenspace. Officials are moving ahead cautiously, however, to avoid a repeat of the Great Piedmont Park Parking Deck Uproar of 2005. [Base image: Google Maps]
