Developer Trammell Crow Residential has filed for permits with the City of Atlanta to develop a new apartment building just south of Buckhead Atlanta, according to BisNow. Located between Grandview Avenue and Lookout Place, the five-story Alexan Pharr Road will have 244 units and replace parking lots and a strip center that kind of resembles a flying saucer. The project is just the latest in a flurry of proposals for the area, as Buckhead Village grows around OliverMcmillan's mega-development.
Across Pharr Road from the Alexan, the Hanover Company is bringing 375 apartments to 475 Buckhead Ave. Just to the north, Broadstone Court is nearing completion and Gables Residential has proposed a high-rise apartment tower at Maple Drive and West Paces Ferry Road. Work will soon begin next to the Buckhead Theater where the Hanover Company plans a large apartment building. Developers are clearly banking on the continued growth of the already obscenely popular — and increasingly expensive — area.
