The development team behind the latest modern-style residential offerings in the Old Fourth Ward admits they're tying to create much on a tight lot. But renderings and floor plans suggest these two semi-detached townhomes will coexist in harmony, like a big contemporary zygote up the hill from Ponce City Market. Aiming for a "gated urban retreat" vibe, the townhomes are set to begin construction next month — where a duplex stands now — and finish by early 2016. Situated a few doors down from Boulevard, in a hotbed of contemporary home construction, each unit will have 2,800 square feet, with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two half-bathrooms and two-car garages, possibly attached to private in-law suites (unless buyers prefer other configurations). The expansive roof decks promise wet bars and rooflines "designed to give maximum privacy between sharing neighbors," they say. The asking price of $639,000 (each, of course) seems in line with other tricked-out, larger townhomes to hit the O4W of late.
