Georgia State University recently announced that some poor person — aka an intern — had gone about digitizing a collection of original documents from MARTA's construction back in the 1970s. With maps, drawings and hundreds of pages of reports and studies, the files offer an interesting look back at a much smaller Atlanta and go far beyond the bounds of simply documenting MARTA. In a letter to the editor of Decaturish, one crafty Avondale Estates resident shows how he combed through hundreds of documents to unearth a few historical jewels, proving there's a lot to be discovered for people across the city.
