Fire Rescue

Fire Station No. 19, Virginia-Highland landmark and Atlanta's oldest continually operating fire station, has officially been saved. After a five-year community campaign to raise money to preserve the 90-year-old building, Atlanta City Council has put the beloved station on the approved list of projects for the Renew Atlanta Infrastructure Bond. It will receive a $600,000 worth of repairs and renovations starting next year. More money still needs to be raised, but there is "no risk of closure." [Atlanta INtown.
