But that could be a hassle of the past if Macon-Bibb County Mayor Robert Reichert is able to convince other politicians that a rail link between the two cities is "essential," as detailed in an article by The Macon Telegraph. While the idea is merely in its infancy, with an existing freight rail corridor already in place, a study back in 2010 indicated that the addition of passenger service could total around $400 million.
