Renderings: How Atlantic Station could Look with Major HQ

New, 13 comments

As a means of corporate coercion, CBRE Global Investors — the folks behind Atlantic Station — have released renderings showing a proposed high-rise headquarters for GE and much more. Taking a prominent position at the northern tip of the mixed-use district, the building would serve as an eye-catching addition to the skyline to the west of the Connector. But a lot must happen for the vision to become a reality. After all, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, GE is merely toying with the idea of a major corporate move from up north — not unlike Mercedes-Benz — and Atlanta's not the only city gunning for attention.

Just last week it was announced that GE was sniffing around Tishman Speyer's Three Alliance Center in Buckhead as a potential headquarters location. But with a possible move to the Atlanta market, it'll be a rat race to see who can offer the best deal for the company. And with other cities around the country vying for attention, a little healthy competition within Atlanta couldn't hurt in the efforts to land an internationally recognized powerhouse like GE.
