Data: Atlanta Traffic Not Nearly as Terrible as We Think

New, 34 comments

Atlantans love to bitch and moan about the city's traffic, and while a new Texas A&M study indicates we waste 52 hours a year sitting in our cars, it also shows that we have it relatively good. According to the numbers, Atlanta ranks 12th on the list of U.S. cities in overall traffic delays, with Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles topping the list at more than 80 hours per year each. All the numbers are likely little solace to those commuting eastbound on the north-end Perimeter who lose an estimated 30 hours a year between Roswell Road and Spaghetti Junction alone, according to WSB-TV.
