Bye-bye, HiFi Buys. Developer OliverMcMillan has released renderings for the next phase of Buckhead Atlanta. According to BuckheadView, plans call for two office towers to be constructed along Bolling Way between Peachtree and East Paces Ferry roads, replacing the long-abandoned HiFi Buys. Its neighbor the Buckhead Bottle Bar met its demise earlier this year, as the entire neighborhood is prepping for a massive makeover. The proposal is eye-catching and a modern departure from the two more traditional looking high-rise apartments that went up with the first phase of Buckhead Atlanta.
Architecture firm Gensler designed two buildings to fill the block with office space and street-front retail. The first building, with staggering 16-foot ceilings, will contain five stories of office space to appeal to "tenants who are looking for more creative office design and use of space," according to Dan Pascale, OM's development executive on the Buckhead Atlanta project. Combined with the second, seven-story building, the plans call for a total of around 230,000 square feet of office space atop five floors of parking, almost 30,000 square feet of retail space and almost 40,000 square feet reserved for a fitness center.
With what looks like a quick approvals timeline, construction could feasibly start by the end of the year.
