If residents of Edmund Park have their way, the City of Atlanta could soon gain a small chunk of unincorporated DeKalb County, proving once again that the city must be doing something right these days. According to Atlanta Progressive News, neighbors in the streets adjacent to Morningside have collected enough signatures for the Atlanta Municipal Clerk's Office to review the petition. If approved, the addition would look like a warty outgrowth on boundary maps, which is neither here nor there. And while the acquisition may seem small, there are efforts brewing in the legislature for Atlanta to incorporate large swaths of Druid Hills and South Fulton in the future.
