Disco Kroger Parking Lot to Gain Residences, Hotel

New, 8 comments

Buckhead's Disco Kroger is poised to get some new neighbors in the form of mixed-use development dwellers. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Coro Realty Advisors have proposed a hotel, apartments and more retail to the already bustling Buckhead Place shopping center at Piedmont and Peachtree roads. The new development would swallow currently vacant land and possibly eat into the massive parking lot that sits in front of the locally famous, disco-ball-adorned grocery, providing a density boost along Peachtree Road between the hubs of Lenox Square and Buckhead Atlanta.

Available renderings offer a glimpse into what the hotel portion could look like, suggesting the property may be slated for a seven-story Hampton Inn & Suites. The proposed 186-room hotel, 190 apartments and roughly 35,000 square feet of retail would add to an already varied selection at the site, which currently features 150,000 square feet of retail, an apartment tower and a Hyatt Place hotel.
