If the world needed more evidence that the Old Fourth Ward real estate market is still smoking hot, a pending sale on a boxy brown and yellow home, listed for $535,000, in less than a day is a good place to start. Hoisted upon the market only yesterday, this 1920 abode is big on space but lacking a lot of the character and dazzling updates of other homes in the area. The location, just two blocks from Historic Fourth Ward Park and the Beltline is no doubt a big factor in the home's appeal, and the four bedrooms and three bathrooms provide ample space. And it's hardly the most expensive property on the street. Still, considering the yawn factor of many of the rooms and elements of the house — easy fixes, for the most part, if one's budget allows, the uninspired back deck notwithstanding — it's a pretty strong indicator that there's still a lot of gas in the tank when it comes to home sales in this neighborhood.
