Costliest One-Bedroom Condo in Atlanta History has Sold

New, 18 comments

In a sign that condominium living in Atlanta — and downtown Atlanta, at that — is still really attractive, the most expensive one-bedroom condo in the city has sold for a record price. Larger than most two-bedroom pads around town, this so-called "trophy" unit high atop the four-star W Atlanta-Downtown hit the market early last summer for $729,000, which was nearly one-hundred grand pricier than Atlanta's second-most costly one-bedroom at The Wakefield in Buckhead. Coldwell Banker Atlanta agent Marc Castillo, who represented both the buyer and seller, tells Curbed the condo closed Monday for $705,000, the highest price for a one-bedroom unit in Atlanta history (and that's before the $839 HOA fees). What could close a deal like that? Probably the protected, 180-degree city views, gigantic living room (contributing to the 1,823 overall square feet), and top-notch features like Carrara marble, Gaggenau appliances and Dornbracht fixtures. Oh, and maybe the helipad on the roof.
