275-Unit Project Could Inject Home Park with Walkability

New, 6 comments

A planned 275-unit apartment project near Georgia Tech could bring the sort of mixed-use parties happening in Midtown and Westside to a point in between. Pollack Shores Real Estate wants to build at the corner of 14th Street, between Mescalin and State streets, on a combined 11 parcels that include Jimmy John's, Taste of New York pizzeria and the husk of beloved Bobby & June's Kountry Kitchen, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. The hope is that the project — with its 10,000 square feet of retail and densely arranged apartment dwellers — will created something of a downtown district for Home Park, especially in conjunction with the adjacent "Kool Corners" retail strip. Pollack Shores has the property under contract and hopes to start moving dirt by July.
