It doesn't bode well for Atlanta's we're-still-affordable argument that new townhomes barely in the $300,000s are a cause for excitement. But such is the case on DeKalb Avenue, at the junction of Candler Park and Lake Claire, where "The Views at Clifton" project is mostly framed up and accepting reservations. As the name implies, all of the eight modern-style units at this boutique development will have rooftop terraces that aim to capitalize on views toward downtown and over leafy neighborhoods. According to recent listings, all units for sale now have three bedrooms and three and ½ bathrooms. The smaller ones (2,000 square feet) are asking $394,900; buyers who want an additional 575 square feet must fork over $439,900. Beyond the view-rific roofs, perks include zero-maintenance landscaping, zoned irrigation systems and versatile interior flex spaces. Some city dwellers dig the sound of whirring MARTA trains, but those who don't might have beef with these places at the outset.
