Georgia Tech's latest Midtown housing, The Standard, to be anything but

Rentals for Georgia Tech brainiacs will feature posh amenities for 750+ residents

The pampering of Midtown's smart kids continues.

Fresh renderings and a press release reveal new information on the latest private student housing building coming to Atlanta, promising another swanky landing spot for Georgia Tech pupils.

The Standard at Tech Square, a project spearheaded by Landmark Properties and Selig Enterprises, is underway on Spring Street between 3rd and 4th streets.

Construction crews are making quick work of prepping the site following last month’s demolition of the old one-story commercial building that had filled most of the block since the 1940s.

Located just across the interstate from Georgia Tech, the building will provide accommodations for 765 students in 257 apartments. As with the two private mega-dorms that opened last year in the area, the building will feature an array of high-end amenities. The Standard will have a clubhouse, rooftop pool, tanning beds, fitness center, sauna, and of course a golf simulator.

Those renters who find time to actually study for school will also find a study lounge and computer lab. At street level, the building will feature a drive-thru Starbucks to replace the one that will soon be demolished on the site.

Look for pre-leasing to begin late next year, with an opening planned for the start of classes in August 2018.
