Radical East Lake home overhaul is hankering for $650K

New, 9 comments

Two weeks on market and a $29K price-chop later ...

Like other old cottages in East Lake, the former 1940s home on this corner lot has undergone an extreme Prairie-inspired makeover, swapping quaintness for an abundance of modern lines and sheer living space.

And after two weeks without a deal, it just underwent a $29,000 price-slice, landing at $649,900.

Like many other listings of late, it name-drops the under-construction 2nd + Hosea project as a walkable perk of living here. A short hike the other way is the less-inviting East Lake Golf Club, a private course that lays claim to being Atlanta’s oldest.

Inside this radical renovation, home-shoppers will find five bedrooms and a hair shy of 3,000 square feet, with a kitchen/living-room headquarters that takes open concept to the extreme. One obvious highlight is that space’s flow to the attached porch via a wall of glass.

Beyond the exterior, modern touches include the custom iron stair railings and LED lighting that’s downright extraterrestrial.
