New Decatur modern has $650K price, abundance of angles

This angular new construction in the vicinity of Decatur is still rough around the edges (it’s 95 percent finished in the photos, we’re told), but it’s complete enough to get the general idea. And that idea is approachable modern, echoing new home offerings across Atlanta.

Touted as being minutes from downtown Decatur (with the city address to prove it), it’s actually probably closer to Emory, where it’s not encumbered with Decatur’s high taxes (or top-flight schools). And thus the not-a-million $650,000 asking price.

Stark white with an exterior wood accent and variety of window shapes, this custom four-bedroom contemporary clocks in at 2,800 square feet, with perks that include wide-plank hardwoods everywhere, quartz counters, what looks like a pro-grade range, plus a detached backyard studio/office and the superb bonus that is “nearby creek sounds.”

Like the cabinetry doors, one can only hope the backyard social space is still a work in progress.

For what it’s worth, this could mark the first instance where Fuqua Development’s Decatur Crossing mixed-use district — with its Sprouts Farmers Market and Zoës Kitchen — makes an appearance in listing language as a nearby attraction.
