Another Midtown parking lot bites dust as dual-branded hotel moves forward

300-room, Euro-style lodge bound for 14th Street

It appears that another prominent surface parking lot in Midtown is no more.

A tipster sends pics (below) of the shuttered former 14th Street parking lot between the Four Seasons Atlanta tower and Atlanta Marriott Suites Midtown. (Moment of silence, please).

The surface lot joins several recent Midtown entrants to the asphalt afterlife, including the lot beside Bulldogs and the one where Eviva Peachtree should soon rise.

Word is that construction fencing will be going up within the next month for a 300-room, dual-branded hotel concept that was announced to replace the parking facility a year ago.

That Noble Investment Group project, designed by Cooper Carry, is set to be both a European-style AC Hotel by Marriott (the second such lodge for intown Atlanta) and the boutique Moxy Hotel.

The Midtown Alliance still lists the project as pending, but What Now Atlanta reported in August that applications for permits were filed to move forward.

Noble Investment Group also recently developed the AC Hotel in Buckhead near Phipps Plaza. Their other Peach State ventures include the W-Atlanta Buckhead and a Hotel Indigo in Savannah’s historic district.
