As Mercedes-Benz Stadium heads into its final half-year of construction, Atlanta Falcons officials are promising culinary offerings far beyond their previously announced (and relatively cheap) $2 hot dogs, $3 pizza slices, and $5 domestic brewskis.

In an effort to peel Atlantans away from their couches and in-home mega-screens, the new Falcons coliseum will boast massive LED video boards, multiple social areas around the facility, and what leaders in a press release today called “the best of Atlanta’s culinary scene” — a game-day lineup of local icons and beloved neighborhood eateries that includes names like Kevin Gillespie and the Iberian Pig.

More than 4,000 Falcons and Atlanta United supporters were polled to produce data that led “to choosing the highest rated restaurants and chefs in the city as well as local favorites from all neighborhoods that included smaller, locally, and minority-owned restaurants,” officials said. Some partners will have offerings on all three concourses.

Along with franchised fare such as Bruster’s ice cream, Jim N Nicks barbecue, and of course Chick-fil-A, hungry gridiron enthusiasts will find the following culinary roster:

...

Antico: locally owned authentic Neapolitan pizza

...

Golden Brown & Delicious: a Southern concept from Concentrics Restaurants, creators of Atlanta’s ONE. midtown kitchen and TWO urban licks.

...

Delia’s Chicken Sausage: chef-driven, hand-crafted, all-natural chicken sausage

...

Farm Burger: locally-sourced grass-fed beef burgers

...

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q: award-winning local barbecue

...

Iberian Pig: local modern Spanish fare by the Castellucci Hospitality Group

...

Kevin Gillespie’s Gamechanger: big flavors with “playful riffs on American indulgence”

...

King of Pops: artisanal popsicle sensation

...

Miss D’s Popcorn: local Atlanta popcorn, pralines and sweets

...

Snackology 101 Market: local, curated line of natural and organic foods

...

Sublime Doughnuts: local, chef-inspired doughnuts and gelato

...

The Varsity: iconic part of Atlanta’s history since 1928

...

With its one-of-a-kind, aperture-like roof hole and brashly modern exterior, the $1.5 billion stadium project is on pace to be finished for the first Falcons games in late-summer 2017, officials said during a media tour last month. It’ll also be home to the Atlanta United soccer team.
