Midtown’s elusive EVIVA tower is maybe moving forward

Recent land sale, gates, hint at possible progress, but developer remains mum on proposed high-rise

Earlier this week, construction fences went up at Peachtree and 7th streets, signalling the start of construction on a new residential and office tower at the heart of the Midtown Mile.

While that was big news, more construction fences just a block south could signal the start of an even bigger development... maybe. A Curbed reader reports seeing new fences go up around the parking lot at Peachtree and 6th streets, the site of the long-proposed 35-story EVIVA Peachtree tower.

Originally floated almost three years ago, the 35-story Perkins+Will-designed tower has gained little traction, despite the fact that Atlantans really want to see it get built.

We have reached out to the Integral Group — who just recently acquired the site, despite having planned to build the architecturally compelling tower for the last three years — and the leasing agent for two retail spaces in the building. So far, no response. If we hear back, we'll update accordingly.
