Atlanta’s most Instagrammed spots of 2016

In today’s world of oversharing, Instagram allows users to broadcast their life experience through heavily filtered photos and #obnoxioushastags.

To round out 2016, Instagram has shared with Curbed the most tagged locations of the year in major cities around the country.

Atlanta’s list contains some expected, highly visited, and rather vague locations including Midtown and the airport, as well as popular events like Braves games at Turner Field and Music Midtown at Piedmont Park.

But while other city lists were graced with cultural attractions like San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art, DC’s Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the Miami Zoo, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Atlanta’s list trended more toward the nightlife scene...

Maybe the lists are evidence that Atlantans are too busy enjoying our cultural attractions to share the images on Instagram. Or maybe we truly are party animals. In any case, here are the top ten shared locations in Atlanta:
