Long-Delayed Moores Mill Transformation Ready to Roll

New, 8 comments

For years, northwest Atlanta residents around the intersection of Moores Mill and Bolton roads have pined for redevelopment of the decrepit Moores Mill Center. The project hinged on a 1000-foot extension of Moores Mill Road to tie it into Marietta Boulevard. Now, with the road modification secured, developer EDENS is ready to break ground on the new, fancier shopping center.

EDENS, who has been involved in the saga through lawsuits and city council letdowns, announced a groundbreaking ceremony to be held Wednesday, March 2 at 9:30 a.m. According to the developer's press release, the shopping center will feature "a sophisticated retail and restaurant mix," and of particular interest to nearby residents, a much needed grocery store in the form of a Publix. If all goes according to plan, the 70,000-square-foot shopping center should open in summer 2017.
