So long, Dugans, and hello America's largest chicken franchise? Commercial real estate marketplace LoopNet indicates that a freestanding Chick-fil-A is bound for a "trophy location" in Poncey-Highland, between a tattoo shop and the Clermont Hotel.
Dugans has been dishing "Atlanta's Original Wings" since 1982. According to plans, its Sabbath-obliging replacement would front Ponce de Leon Avenue with a 31-space surface parking lot behind the building. LoopNet indicates the new business will be operational in the first quarter of 2017.
"The construction of this new freestanding restaurant displays Chick-fil-A' s strong commitment to Atlanta and faith in the continued growth of the Midtown submarket," the listing reads, before touting proximity to the Beltline, Ponce City Market, Krog Street Market (?), the Clermont Hotel redo, and even Murder Kroger.
