Quirky-Cool Old Fourth Ward 'Gem' is Gunning for $525K

New, 16 comments

$525,000 + 1,477 square feet = dang!

Let's talk numbers first: This renovated 1920 "gem" in the Old Fourth Ward, as the listing agent puts it, is 1,477 square feet with a price tag of $525,000. It basically overlooks Ponce City Market and has quirky/cool/cute personality for miles, with the vaulted ceiling, exposed timbers, and semi-finished basement bunker that is certifiably badass.

In the hot-hot-hot O4W, that costs a premium. But how high will buyers go?

According to Virgent Realty, it has the highest price per square foot of any recently listed O4W home. It sold in December 2013 for $430,000 — which was $5,000 over asking.

Then again, it could be a viable alternative for Atlanta condo hunters who like the idea of three bedrooms and a lounge-y front porch and back deck with walkability that's (almost) comparable to Midtown.
