Don't look now, but Scottdale is on something of a roll. The eastern ITP community has seen recent investment in the form of Your DeKalb Farmers Market's huge expansion and a 55-acre mixed-housing development called Villages at Mills Creek. Now, an official with commercial real estate firm Cone Middour Partners tells Curbed he's "extremely bullish" on his recent acquisition of three shabby buildings in that part of town.
Owen Middour, a principal with the firm, says extensive renovations to the properties at the intersection of Valley Brook Road and East Ponce de Leon Avenue are in permitting with hopes of being completed by late May. The firm closed on "four long-neglected parcels" at the intersection in February, he said.
"We're extremely bullish on the area due to the proximity to Decatur and Avondale and excellent access to both Interstate 285 and U.S. Highway 78," Middour wrote in an email. "We'll be making significant improvements to all three buildings to include new roofs, updated facades, new signage, (and) new parking lots."
So what's to come? That remains to be seen.
The firm is seeking both retail and warehouse tenants to fill spaces ranging from 1,300 to 5,000 square feet. Leasing opportunities are touted as being the "best rental rates in the area."
Here's a preview of what the future could hold:
